About Us

NaroEscape Motorsports is an independently operated company in Charlotte, NC owned by Bob and Nadine Saville.  Originally a race team, the company started fabricating and selling small specialty racing parts in 2012, then grew into the Racing and Safety parts supplier it is today. Bob and Nadine have been active members of PCA (the Porsche Club of America) since 1993 and SCCA since 2013.

Both have been high performance driving instructors since 2003, and Nadine was on the PCA Club Racing National staff, first as a Timing Tech then Scrutineer, from 2005 through 2017. 

One of the more ambitious ventures that NaroEscape Motorsports has engaged in was competing in Targa Newfoundland in 2006-2007.  This week long road rally race tests stamina and conditioning of both car and team. Our car “Huey” was built specifically for Targa and has endured the beating and banging of Newfoundland roads like a champ.

Besides Targa, Bob has been avid PCA Club Racer since 2006. Using “Papa Smurf”, he has had numerous class wins at tracks like Carolina Motorsports Park, Road Atlanta, VIR, Summit Point and Watkins Glen.  In 2017 he started racing in SCCA, winning his first two races in GT2 class, with one Overall Group 3 win!

In 2013, both Bob and Nadine started competing in SCCA Hill Climbs where they have both fared very well. Running their first Hill Climb with Papa Smurf, then subsequent events with Huey, they consistently place at or near the top of their class. In 2015 they ran enough events in the SCCA Southeast Division Time Trial Series to compete for the Division Championship, with Bob finishing second, and Nadine third in the SE Division for GT2 class.

In 2017, Bob started racing with the Loose Canon Racing team in their Porsche 944, helping the team to a second and a third place finish in their first few races with the series. Nadine has been honing her Data Analysis skills and is providing Crew Chief and Data Coaching services to Bob and the Loose Canon Racing team.

Also in 2017, NaroEscape Motorsports transitioned from just a race team to a full service retail business selling racing safety and data gear to the amateur (and sometimes professional) sports car market. The business has grown substantially from a few totes worth of inventory to one of the largest vendors in the Southeast. 

2020 saw the demise of Papa Smurf when a stuck throttle cable forced Bob through a tire wall, berm and into the woods at Summit Point. 

In 2021, the team purchased Spek - a 2007 Porsche Cayman S developed for PCA's Spec Cayman class. With multiple wins in both PCA and SCCA, Bob is keeping up the winning tradition of NaroEscape Motorsports!

Today, NaroEscape Motorsports continues to grow and support organizations like NASA-SE, PCA, BMWCCA, Hooked on Driving, Just Track It, Carolinas Mustang Club, Turn 1 Motorsports and many others by with our Trackside Mobile Store, our Online web presence and our brick and mortar store in Denver, NC.
